Great density on the palate and intensity on the finish. Still, this Chardonnay is surprisingly bright featuring notes of meyer lemon and mandarin zest up front. The finish is long and toasty with a great balance between the creaminess and acidity.
2018 Bit Wicked, Chardonnay, Alexander & Napa Valley
95 Pts.Martin Sheehan-Stross,
A blend from two marquis growing regions for Chardonnay, the wine features a smooth texture with lots of layered fruit tones from green apple to honeydew melon. A hint of almond adds complexity. Full-bodied with loads of baking spice notes persisting on the finish.
Deep and decadent, but with plenty of fresh red plum and red berry notes as well, this wine is full-bodied and well-structured at this point in its young life. There are lovely aromas of menthol and sandalwood, as well as mocha all adding dimension. A few years in the cellar will add even more complexity.
